Waters West’s XL Schlappen feathers come from the base of the rooster saddle and offer generously webbed, soft fibers that provide excellent movement and flow in the water. These long, supple feathers are ideal for creating full, billowy collars, palmered bodies, or tails on streamer-style flies—including classic buggers, spey flies, or salmon/steelhead patterns. Because the fibers are so full and loosely structured, they pulse naturally as you strip or swing your fly, giving it lifelike action that predatory fish key in on.
