If you fish in Washington, you've probably heard jokes about the original version of the Fish Washington App. The app was so slow it was pretty much un-usable unless you had high speed Wi-Fi, which is hard to find when you're fishing.
Anyway... WDFW recently released a new version of the app with several new features and fixes to common issues that users have reported on both iOS and Android platforms.
The new version is ad-free and designed to run more smoothly while using less data and device memory, and it is FAST. Developers completely rewrote the app’s code, which now features a single code base for both iOS and Android platforms. This means a smaller app size, less frequent updates, and fewer bugs. it is also FREE.
This new version of the app makes it way easier to check the current regulations for any body of water managed by the state.
It's also a good idea to sign up for the WDFW Alerts email list. That's the fastest way to stay up to date on river regulations and closures.
How to get the app
The app can be downloaded for free from Google Play and Apple's App Store. If you already have the Fish Washington app you should see an automatic update to the new version.
