The Morrish Level Headed Damsel is designed to closely mimic the natural shape and presentation of a damsel fly nymph. While it’s impossible to replicate the insect’s erratic swimming motion, this fly focuses on the elements that truly matter: a slim, elegant profile, the distinctive fanned-out triple tail, and the long, slender legs that are characteristic of a damsel nymph. The large dark eyes add to its realism, and the balanced design ensures the fly sits in the water with a slight head-up tilt, just like the real thing. After 15 design iterations, this fly excels when suspended under a dry or indicator, especially in light chop. While it can be cast and retrieved, it’s most effective when allowed to hover and drift naturally.
