side note: bumped up the line weight to 6wt due to the fact we found the Vise to be a very stiff fast action rod. This is great, you get a lighter rod but with a 6wt line that will be able to cast in the wind a little better.

VISE 590-4 (9' 5wt): Normal length rod for close to medium distances of 20ft to 60ft (of course this varies with wind and skill level)

VISE 596-4 (9' 6" 5wt): the extra 6 inches helps get your fly out there! great for medium range to your longest casts. The difference isn't so much as which rod will cast furthest, the difference is in how easy it is to do so. The 596-4 (9' 6") does distance the easiest.
