Whiting High & Dry Hackle Saddles - 1/2 Saddles
After years of selective breading Whiting Farms has produced for us some of the finest quality dry fly hackles available to the fly tying community. These are dense high quality hackles with stiff barbs on extra long strong stems.
Though equally matched in quality-High & Dry Cape stems, averaging in lengths of 3"-6", are much shorter than the uncompromising 8" - 12" stems of these High & Dry Saddles which has fast become the ultimate dry fly hackle. Simply due to exceptional length and ease of handling for flies such as the classic Parachute Adams, which may require longer stems for more wraps around the parachute post. A single feather can last up to half a dozen dry flies. Its not uncommon for some commercial tiers to get up 1000 flies with one Full Saddle.
Hackle Gauge: A single Saddle ranges sz 10 - sz 20 w/ the average being sz 12 - sz 16's
