The Dirty Hoh (named after the famed Glacier fed Hoh river in Olympic rainforest)This is Jerry French's signature design which he assembled as a cross between an Intruder and a String Leech.

  • The rabbit strip (tail end) making up 3/4 of the body has tons of movement.
  • The hook (tail end again) is attached to the very back of the tail via 50lb Powerpro and the "Twisted Hitch" secures the hook to the rabbit strip.
  • "Twisted Hitch" enables you to switch out hooks for a longer lasting fly, or to upgrade to something like an OPST Swing Hooks size 2 or 3
  • w/ artificial junglecock nails
  • The forward shoulder (head of the fly) is tied just like that of an Intruder thus giving the fly a large swimmy profile.

    Defining Features:
Where the dirty Hoh truly makes its mark, as the fish takes the fly and turns its head, the soft flexible body of the Dirty Hoh allows the upright facing hook to slide into the corner of the jaw making for a clean secure hookup. Helping to eliminate foul hookups in the tongue, close to the gills or the gills themselves. This means more fish friendly hook ups. Also, thanks to the bulky dubbing mess at the head of the fly the tinny teeth of our anadromous fish get caught/tangled much like velcro. This just means the fly may not be so easily spit out, giving you more time to react and set the hook.

And don't be afraid to strip or swing these flies for big trout in places like Montana or Alaska
