Classes and Clinics
We host a variety of different classes and clinics throughout the year. We have very diverse fishing seasons out here on the Olympic Peninsula so our classes and clinics change accordingly. In wintertime most of our classes are steelhead oriented, Fall is salmon and Summer is a bit of everything.
Fishing Classes focus on where the fish will be, how to present the fly in different conditions, and general demystification of fly fishing on the Olympic Peninsula rivers.
Tying Classes are geared towards teaching skill sets and techniques that can be used widely and built upon, while producing a fly that will catch fish on our local rivers.
Olympic Peninsula Fly Tying Course
Waters West's Olympic Peninsula Fly Tying Class is a successful, time-tested course that has introduced many fishermen to the rewarding world of tying flies. In this once-a-week, three-week program you will learn how to tie dry flies, nymphs, streamers, and steelhead flies. If you have always wanted to learn how to tie flies, but have been intimidated, fear not; Water West's format is uncomplicated and based on techniques, which will grow each week.
At completion, you will have the knowledge of tying almost any fly that interests you and will also have a collection of flies to fish local waters. Waters West provides all materials, hooks, and threads. Students will be responsible for their tying tools and equipment.
